Tumblr Christmas Challenge = FAIL :(

Day 13: 5 things you love about Christmas.

1 - lights

2 - the spirit

3 - family & friends getting together

4 - snow

5 - the magic for children

Day 12: Your favorite Christmas song.

My Grown-Up Christmas List.  I first heard it as a child by Amy Grant and various artist have done it since then…I guess you can say my social worker heart started young, always wanted to save the world. lol

Day 11: Favorite gift received as a child?

My parents got me one of those drivable cars one year and I was in LOVE.  I used to drive it up and down our driveway and road like I was an adult in a real car (we lived on a dead end so I was safe).  A few times the battery died and I would have to get Dad to come and “tow” my Jeep back to the garage for charging.  I gave other kid’s rides, took my dog for rides, took my dolls for rides…I loved my little Jeep.

Day 10: Who spoiled Santa Claus for you?

My cousin Abby…she just flat out told me one year and I was devastated.  I can’t remember hold old I was but know I was still fairly young.  I do remember that she got into big trouble for spoiling it for me.  My parents of course tried to undo the damage but the seed had been planted so I was a skeptic from then on and the magic behind Santa was gone.  :(

Day 9: When do you put up your tree?

I am a big believer that you have to wait until after Thanksgiving so I normally put it up Thanksgiving weekend as I have some extra time off work to rest and relax after the Christmas decorating festivities.  As I mentioned before this was a tradition of my Mother and I’s and so I have come to really struggle putting up the tree on my own and even a few years just couldn’t do it…so far this year has been one of those years, hopefully someday I will have children which will make me want to start that tradition with them.
